Portrait Collage Workshop

Students will learn to make a collage portrait using one of the patterns provided by the instructor. Students will be given all information necessary to make a portrait from a photo. Students will learn how to choose and manipulate fabrics to create a colorful collage portrait the size of a 11x17. Students will also learn how to sew a portrait quilt using a variety of methods including thread painting. Contact Lola Jenkins for details.

When I was a small child growing up, one of my most vivid memories was of my parents gatherings in the front yard of my childhood home. This made a lasting impact on me because there would always Bar B Que with the fix in's, dancing, and music. These gatherings also consisted of talent shows which brought out many of my father’s musician friends. My father was one of the song birds in the family, boy could he sing. I can hear him now singing to the horn player. Can you?
